Good Morning Ya'll. It's officially seven days and counting!! I received this email from a friend of mine and thought to myself.... What If??? Let me know your thoughts
Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around? .....think about it. Would the country's collective point of view be different?
Ponder the following: What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once and Obama was a divorcee?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to painkillers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker? What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included; discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution.
You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality,do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?
Barack Obama:Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization! inInternational Relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude
Joseph Biden:University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political ScienceSyracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
John McCain:United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899
Sarah Palin:Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semesterNorth Idaho College - 2 semesters - general studyUniversity of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism
This is not meant to offend anyone and i know education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest office in the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.

Practice Makes Perfect!!
"They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they'd make up their minds."
"The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself."
"Some of us (perfectionists, especially) fuss so much over making the 'right' choice, but in life, all that's really needed is to make any' good' choice, believe in it, go through with it, and accept the consequences."
"If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything."
"Aim at perfection in everything, though in most things it is unattainable. However, they who aim at it, and persevere, will come much nearer to it than those whose laziness and despondency make them give it up as unattainable."
"Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being you."
"People have to face regrets. Becoming mature means learning to accept what you cannot change, facing unresolved sorrows and learning to love life as it really happens, not as you would have it happen. When someone attaches unkindness to criticism, it's because they're angry. Angry people need to criticize as an outlet for their anger. That's why you must reject unkind criticism. Unkind criticism is never part of a meaningful critique of you. Its purpose is not to teach or to help, its purpose is to punish. Life isn't supposed to be an all or nothing battle between misery and bliss. Life isn't supposed to be a battle at all. And when it comes to happiness, well, sometimes life is just okay, sometimes it's comfortable, sometimes wonderful, sometimes boring, sometimes unpleasant. When your day's not perfect, it's not a failure or a terrible loss. It's just another day."

Move in the Right Direction!!
What up People!! This election is going down to the wire and it's starting to get ugly!! I've posted some videos on my site (www.TheAshCashShow.com) that shows you how ugly this thing is getting. I'm a pretty positive person but I am not suprised at the ignorance which is gong on, but I digress! I am a Barack Obama supporter, and I have some friends who seriously are considering voting for McCain (True Story!!!) and I know some folks who don't like neither. We know what's going on out therein the economy and how the times are but we need to stay positive, stay focussed and no matter what your choice is, I need you to support the person that you feel will be moving us in the Right Direction!! Even if you don't like either candidate, that is no reason not to vote, so in three weeks make sure your voice is heard!!
With that being said, Today's Daily Word is dedicated to Direction!! In life the only way you are going to get anything meaningful out of it, is to put out the right energy and to make sure you are moving in the right direction. Anybody can be busy, but you must be busy doing something, because you can easily be busy doing nothing!! If success is LEFT and you're running RIGHT...Guest what? You're not moving in the right direction!! So get Busy!! Do Something!!
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go."
"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."
"There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction"
"Forget about the consequences of failure. Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success."
"Our thoughts create our reality -- where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go."
"If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
-Henry David Thoreau
"In order to be successful, you must establish a vision for the future and set a strategy for getting there; You must be the cause of change. You must motivate and inspire yourself to go in the right direction and most importantly you must sacrifice to get there."

Who thought of this?
No newcomers to attending various music industry conferences and events, Kim Ellis and Wendy Day recognized the need to provide a more conducive learning atmosphere for those that are truly seeking an educational experience versus an event catered more for the party goer. However, that's not the only reason. By working with many independent artists on PR/Marketing and Consulting needs between the two of them in their separate businesses, there's an up front understanding that budgets tend to be a bit smaller than average, and many could not afford to travel to all the various events but still thrive for the knowledge.
"This venture makes sense on so many levels for us to do", states Wendy Day. "Aside from my 16 years of knowledge and success in the music business, coupled with my experience in organizing panel discussions, I knew this would be a fit for me. In the last year I have spent upwards of $70,000 attending every industry event I could find that was offering knowledge. A few were quite good, but most were disappointing at best. They were poorly funded, lacked the sharing of real knowledge, and were seemingly run by folks looking to make a big financial score without any focus on what was being taught or shared. Kim and I can offer this real knowledge and information by ways of results oriented and proven professionals in the music business for these folks while
saving them money and eliminating the intimidation factor by sitting in a room full of people they don't know. Since Kim and I both give 100% to everything we do, you already know In The Know will be an industry leader", Wendy proudly denotes.
Monthly "In The Know" Seminars will roll out on Saturday, October 18th and will be presented by using the worldwide leader in online meeting applications - WebEx, which is a Cisco Company. "We've been diligently working on the process, which has been a 120 day proposed roll out, to ensure quality and world class service to our attendees and presenters," states Kim.
Future topics include: Building A Buzz (Nov 15), How To Put Out Your Own CD (Dec 13)...
You can expect nearly all the elements that you would be able to experience at a live conference with "In The Know" to include sponsorship/branding opportunities, knowledge (gift) bags, contacts, LIVE critique sessions and so much more! The first topic on Saturday, October 18th will be "How To Get A Record Deal" and will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST via www.InTheKnowSeminars.com.
For more information contact Kim Ellis at 404-434-0295 or email@example.com. As well, be sure to check the website at
www.InTheKnowSeminars.com and the MySpace page at www.myspace.com/intheknowseminars.
How can you afford not to be part of this?

"Each of us has been put on earth with the ability to do something well. We cheat ourselves and the world if we don't use that ability as best we can."
"If you're not learning while you're earning, you're cheating yourself out of the better portion of your compensation."
"No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourself."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Most people have come to prefer certain of life's experiences and deny and reject others, unaware of the value of the hidden things that may come wrapped in plain and even ugly paper. In avoiding all pain and seeking comfort at all costs, we may be left without intimacy or compassion; in rejecting change and risk we often cheat ourselves of the quest; in denying our suffering we may never know our strength or our greatness."
-Rachel Naomi Remen
"People suffer all their life long, under the foolish superstition that they can be cheated. But it is impossible for a person to be cheated by anyone but himself."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"The first and worst of all frauds is to cheat oneself"
-Philip James Bailey

RIP Legendary Tupac Producer Johnny 'J' Jackson October 3rd was a sad day for fans and supporters of Tupac Shakur's musical legacy. According to Allhiphop.com, Johnny Jackson, better known as Johnny 'J,' committed suicide by jumping from a tier in the LA County Jail, where he was serving time on a DWI charge.Johnny 'J' was an incredible producer and perhaps the single most influential musical contributor to Pac's catalog. After producing the smash "Knockin Boots"for Candyman back in 1990, he met 2pac and they began cutting records, leading to their first commercial release together, "Pour Out A Little Liquor," from the Thug Life album, Thug Life Vol. 1 (1994). The next year, while Pac was in jail, Johnny released an under the radar solo LP called I Gotta Be Me, and contributed "Death Around the Corner" to the Me Against The World album. But it's really his work on the classic All Eyez On Me that marks his unique sound– groovy slap basses and funky guitar riffs, synthesized drums and melodic synth lines. It was a sound that very much seems to be created amidst Pac's tireless work ethic, and you can visualize the records he produced coming together while Pac is writing his rhymes on the spot in the studio. They have a very live, organic– but synthesized– feel, and at the time that was a huge break from the production norm, which was still very much about neck snapping drums, and short sampled loops reworked into 4/4 rap beats (even Dr. Dre was still in that zone). Johnny 'J' was able to give Pac a much more musically dynamic sound– something more free flowing and improvisational– and it allowed for a string of undeniable hits.A good example of Johnny's influence can be heard in the title track, "All Eyez On Me." Whereas The Trackmasters also flipped Linda Clifford's "Never Gonna Stop," for Nas' "Street Dreams," their rendition was a straight loop with a drum track. In Johnny's flip, you can hear him replay the bass line underneath the loop, and his drums are tighter, more compressed, and just all around more "in the pocket." Such subtle differences, yet Pac's "All Eyez On Me," till this day, is the more acclaimed track.Johnny produced a bunch of other big records off the All Eyez On Me album, like "How Do U Want It," and "All About U," and after Pac died in September of '96, he would be called on repeatedly to rework pre-existing songs for posthumous albums. He also contributed to albums from Nate Dogg ("Crazy, Dangerous") and Bizzy Bone ("When Thugz Cry"), while continuously supplying Pac's extended fam, The Outlawz and Big Syke, among others, with tracks.Still, Johnny 'J' never managed to recapture the magic he created with Pac while working with other artists. Perhaps they just lacked the talent and abilities that were bestowed upon one of the greatest voices of our generation. And because of that, Johnny spent the years leading up to his recent death floating beneath the radar, so much so that most people (including myself) didn't even know he was in jail. That said, Johnny J's musical contributions cannot be understated, unappreciated, or misrepresented. Regardless of anything, at many critical junctures in his career, Pac needed hits, and Johnny supplied them in bulk time and again. Hip-Hop owes a debt of gratitude to him.And so here we are… the irony is kinda crazy…Pour out a little liquor.RIP: Johnny 'J' Jackson (August 28th 1969– October 3rd, 2008)

Man wanted in East Side nightclub shooting arrested in New Mexico
Williams is awaiting extradiction to El Paso.
The shooting Sept. 21 outside of Graham Central Station, 1840 N. Lee Treviño, wounded 11 people, two critically.
"It started as a confrontation between this gang member (Williams) and at least one member of a rival gang," El Paso Police spokesman Officer Chris Mears said in an El Paso Times article last month.
An arrest warrent had been issued in El Paso for Williams, of the 9800 block of Titan, on four counts of criminal attempt capital murder in connection with the Sept. 21 shooting incident and carries a $1 million bond.
Williams was identified through a photo lineup by witnesses and victims.
He has at least one other arrest warrant issued in August on a misdemeanor charge of failing to identify himself or giving a false name.

A Higher Standard!!
Aiight ya'll, This week has been short and sweet! So will my commentary! Fresh off the VP debate Today's Daily Word is dedicated to a Higher Standard. Whether you are a Republican or Democrat we can all can agree that the last eight years has caused a lot of hardship with our economy and with our foreign relations. Who ever you decide to vote for, make sure that we are able to hold them to a higher standand... Oh yeah, and in life make sure you hold yourself to the same!!! Have a good weekend, I'll shout at you next week
-Henry Ward Beecher
"Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be."
"Each of us will one day be judged by our standard of life -- not by our standard of living; by our measure of giving -- not by our measure of wealth; by our simple goodness -- not by our seeming greatness."
-William Arthur Ward
"If you don't set a baseline standard for what you'll accept in life, you'll find it's easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that's far below what you deserve."

The Big Ego!!
Aiight ya'll I don't even have time to write a long paragraph, so Today's Daily Word is dedicated to Ego!! That's all I'm saying,-Ash'Cash
"The world is burning in the fire of desire, in greed, arrogance and excessive ego." -Sri Guru Granth Sahib "Give up all bad qualities in you, banish the ego and develop the spirit of surrender. You will then experience Bliss." -Sri Sathya Sai Baba "One may understand the cosmos, but never the ego; the self is more distant than any star." -G. K. Chesterton
"People who are too concerned with how well they are doing will be less successful and feel less competent than those who focus on the task itself... Some psychologists call it a conflict between ego-orientation, or between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation... but in all cases, what counts is whether attention is turned away from the task at hand and focused on the self and its future rewards, or whether it is instead trained on the task itself. The latter attitude seems the more fruitful."-Unknown "If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up." -Deepak Chopra
"Look for intelligence and judgment and, most critically, a capacity to anticipate, to see around corners. Also look for loyalty, integrity, a high energy drive, a balanced ego and the drive to get things done." -Colin Powell quotes
-- "To become truly great, one has to stand with people, not above them."-Charles de Montesquieu
